Platform
Hire Locally
– I believe that Johnson City needs to attract new businesses that will hire LOCAL skilled and semi-skilled labor before advertising nationally for workers, offering livable wages and competitive benefits to our citizens.
Care for our most vulnerable citizens
– We should be ensuring that our homeless and underhoused, as well as our citizens with addiction or mental health issues, are receiving all services and support they need, and that these services and support are accessible and available when and where they are needed.
Organized revitalization of downtown JC
– The City Commission should fully support and enable an organized revitalization of downtown Johnson City that is pedestrian and bicycle friendly and attractive to small businesses without sacrificing parking for tourists and visitors coming here from outside our community.
Support our veterans and city service workers
– We should be taking care of those who take care of us. This includes ensuring that our veterans are being properly employed at levels commensurate with their skills, as well as compensating our first responders and service workers fairly and equitably so that we recruit and retain the best available for our city.
Modernize and maintain our infrastructure
– City infrastructure should be maintained and updated to keep up with the needs of our citizens in the 21st century. This should include services such as free internet access and EV charging stations in public parking lots.
